The SME tools that actually get you seen
There are a thousand marketing tools for small businesses, and most are a way to spend money looking busy. These are the few that actually put you in front of a customer — Google Business Profile, your own domain, a one-page site, reviews — in the order they earn their keep.
WinCustomers sits among them for the website piece; the rest are free or nearly free. And if you’d rather not wire them together on a Sunday, that’s what Outstanding Group is for.

Why your business won’t grow
Most small firms hit a size and stick there — not because the work got worse, but because the same five things quietly cap you, and none of them are on the tools. You’re the bottleneck, you’re always in the business rather than on it, new customers can’t find you, it’s feast or famine, and you still look small.
Every one of them is fixable. Here’s what actually breaks the ceiling — and how Outstanding Group takes it off your plate.

If Google can’t find you, neither can your customers
Most people don’t go looking for a tradesperson — they type “plumber near me” and ring one of the first three that show up on the map. If you’re not on that map, you’re not in the running, and you never even know the job existed.
The fix is free and takes an afternoon: claim your Google Business Profile, add your phone number, set your opening hours, and get a handful of reviews. That’s the single biggest lever most small firms are leaving untouched.
Not sure where you stand? Run the free Visibility Checker — thirty seconds, no card, and you get the score whether you buy anything or not.

The £50 mistake: a gmail address is costing you jobs
A quote from dave.plumbing@gmail.com and a quote from dave@daveplumbing.co.uk do the same work — but one of them looks like a business and one looks like a bloke. The customer can’t see your work yet, so they judge on the small signals. The email is one of the loudest.
Your own domain costs about £50 a year and buys you a proper email, a place to send people, and a padlock in the browser bar. It’s the cheapest bit of credibility you’ll ever buy.
See what’s available for your business name with the free Domain Finder — real names, real prices, in seconds.

Reviews are the new shopfront
Reviews are the first thing a customer checks and the last thing most owners get round to asking for. Under ten reviews and most people move on to the next name on the list — not because you’re worse, but because they’ve nothing to go on.
Make it a habit: finish a job, send a one-line text with a link to your Google profile, ask them to leave a word. Ten happy customers a month and you’ll out-rank firms twice your size by Christmas.
Want the full picture of where you’re winning and losing online? The £9.99 Health Check lays it out, no meeting needed.
